Proven strategies to increase revenue and profitability
Cornerstone works with clients all over North America and across the globe. Client conversations frequently turn to Maine, and usually, “why Maine?” Here’s a little insight. Maine is beautiful and diverse with a unique quality of life. If you’ve never seen the Maine coast it’s worth the trip. Mile after mile of cold blue ocean and rocky shores, islands dotted with windblown homes and old-growth pine, sandy beaches and dunes. About 90 percent of Maine is forested, the highest percentage of any state, including some 12 million acres in northern Maine. Wildlife is abundant on both land and sea.
Portland is a beautiful seaside city with a revitalized section of Portland known as The Old Port, comprising cobblestone streets, restaurants, businesses, and a thriving art community. The regulars will tell you that the beer at Gritty McDuff’s downtown pub might be enough to lure people to Portland! Thanks to high marks in five key quality of life metrics, U.S. News and World Report ranked Portland above every other New England city on its 2019 list of best places to live. Bon Appetit magazine named Portland as the 2018 Restaurant City of the Year. The city is also home to the Portland Symphony Orchestra, The Portland Museum of Fine Arts, and Minor League baseball team to the 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox- The Portland Seadogs.

A large insurance company came to Cornerstone for help developing and creating an after sale program that would help monetize a database of existing customers, as well as generate additional revenue per order on current new customer acquisition efforts. The strategy, marketing programs and scripts created and implemented by Cornerstone increased the Client’s average sale amount by more than $8.50 per order. The programs continue to generate in excess of $1,000,000.00 in additional annual revenue for Cornerstone’s Client, which are used to significantly reduce overall telemarketing expenses and to reinvest in media.

Case Study #2
Turning tire kickers into customers
A common problem many businesses face are consumers who express interest in their product or service but do not end up completing a transaction. Examples include a consumer that (1) abandons a shopping cart during online checkout, (2) calls to inquire about a product or service but does not order, or (3) registers for a discount coupon code but never uses it. One client came to Cornerstone because they were generating a high percentage of inbound calls that did not result in a sale. While their own internal call center was very effective at closing enough sales to make the campaign profitable, they were searching for a way to monetize their “non-buyer” inquiries. Cornerstone presented a marketing plan which resulted in converting 8% of those non-buyer leads to customers. These were lost revenue opportunities for which our Client had already incurred the media and telemarketing expense, so was truly found money and generated tens of thousands of dollars a month for our Client.
Note: Cornerstone respects the confidentiality of its Clients’ business and as such does not reveal the names of its Clients.
